Report from Race Walking Record

Reigning Olympic Champion Matej Toth (SVK) made an impressive return to racing with a world-leading 50km mark of 3:42:48 in his first race over the distance since the Rio Olympics. He had the company of Finland’s Veli-Matti Partanen up until the 10km mark before he gradually moved away. Partanen finished second in a personal best 3:44:43 ahead of compatriot Jarkko Kinnunen.
The race was the official British Athletics trial for the European Championships in Berlin.

Centurions, Dominic and Daniel King finished in 10th in 4:06:34 and 11th (4:08:16) respectively . Despite seasons bests, both failed to achieve the qualifying standard of 4:03:00.
