This is a qualifying race for the British Centurions.
The race will be held under RWA rules; a Race Permit will be applied for.
Organised by Centurion Kevin Marshall of Positive Steps.

Race venue
The event will be held around the Moreton Hall estate on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds using the network of cycle paths that criss-cross the estate.

Course details
A 2 mile loop on cycleways and pavement with good surfaces.

Access
Bury St Edmunds has good transport connections so easily accessible by car or public transport:
The venue is the Skyliner Sports Centre (Sybil Andrews Academy, Rougham Tower Avenue, Bury St Edmunds, IP32 7QB).
  • By road it is a short distance from the A14, follow the signposts to the sports centre.
  • London Stansted and Norwich airports are the nearest airports.
  • The Hook of Holland to Harwich ferry is a convenient option for those travelling from the Netherlands.
  • There is a bus from Bury St Edmunds railway station to the Skyliner Sports Centre. See http://www.traveline.info for bus timetables and http://www.nationalrail.co.uk for rail information.

Registration:
Race numbers (and Race Programme) - to be collected on the day:
100 miles: registration opens 10:00am on Saturday 5th August.
50 miles and 20 miles: registration opens 14:00 Saturday 5th August.

Start Times:
100 miles: 12 noon Saturday
50 miles: 16:00 Saturday
20 miles: 16:00 Saturday

Entry Limits:
100 miles: 70
50 miles: 40
20 miles: 40

First Aid:
First-aiders will be present at the start/finish and along the course.
If you develop medical problems, please alert the nearest marshal and prompt assistance will be provided. Participants are required to provide their own first aid materials for blisters.

Feeding station: A feed station provided by the organisation will provide food and drinks for competitors. Entrants are advised to bring their favourite goodies as well.

Race Rules
  • Minimum age: 20 years old
  • No person (except a blind runner’s attendant) may accompany a competitor at any point on the course.
  • RWA race walking rules apply
  • Race Numbers are not transferable. The number must not be cut, folded or mutilated in any way and must be fastened securely to the front of your vest or top. Please fill in the personal information required on the reverse side including relevant medical information and contact numbers to aid race staff in the event of an emergency.
Entrants are advised to ensure they train sufficiently to ensure they are physically fit enough to participate.

Awards: All finishers will be awarded a bespoke medal
Cotswolds Outdoor will provide a prize for the first man and first women finisher in the St Edmunds 100. Also everyone taking part will get 15% off purchase at Cotswold Outdoors.

A "tester" race was held in the 8th April 2017 when 15 race walkers turned up to, well, to test the course!
The feedback from all the competitors was very positive. The chip timing worked well (which has been tested at larger and longer events).
