CVN Reunion, 3rd December 2011, Geel, Belgium.
Hon Secretary Chris Flint, and Assistant Hon. Secretary, Kathy Crilley, travelled to Geel in the province of Antwerp, Belgium, for the 2011 CVN reunion.
Kathy Crilley reports...
Setting off at 3.30am and after several "snooze stops" we arrived in Geel for the 11am welcome coffee and cakes in Geel.
Our hosts were Caroline Mestagh and Rudi Schoors who organised an excellent day for all.
We set off for a tour of historic Geel culminating with a visit to the ancient church of St Dymph.
Returning to our restaurant we had a most sumptious lunch punctuated with various speeches and presentations.
As per tradition, all Centurions were introduced to all present with a special welcome to the walkers who qualified in 2011.
Frans Leijtens had also set up a slide show of photos from the Centurions Centenary Dinner at the House of Commons and the 100 mile race at Lingfield. No escape!
Many thanks to Rudi and Caroline, Piet and Janni, Frans and Gerrit and all the Dutch and Belgium Centurions for a memorable day.
