The Hon. Secretary wrote:
“To have so many new Centurions at one event is quite exceptional and once again shows the determination of people of all ages to achieve this tough challenge. It was good to see participants from a number of different countries.
The organising committee together with the sponsorship of Tower Insurance worked very hard to make this a most enjoyable event and a highly competitive one too with the race lead fluctuating during the 24 hours. In the end Vinny Lynch C.1107 won in an excellent time of 19.14.21, with Janette Morgan the first lady in 20.23.11 who finished strongly

2013 Isle of Man

This year’s race was the third occasion it was held in the Isle of Man. The race attracted 95 entries from as far afield as South Africa, America and Nigeria.
Race starters were John Cannell C388, winner of the 100 mile event in 1987, and multiple distance race winner Irene Corlett.
The first three home were:
- Richard Gerrard (IOM) 18:29:40.
- Vinny Lynch (IOM) 19:00:51
- Robbie Callister (IOM) 19:19:45
Out of the 83 walkers who started 35 completed 100 miles within 24 hours and 24 qualified as Centurions for the first time. They were greeted by the President of the Centurions Ann Sayer C599 at the finish line. Congratulations to them all.
